North Dakota Port Services, Inc. (NDPS) was founded in 2007 in Minot, ND. Its origins are rooted in the need for an intermodal shipping solution for agricultural commodities, to importers and to help with North Dakota's vast export market. As activity in the Bakken Oil Formation began to take off shortly after the opening of NDPS, services were added to support a variety of commodities to better serve North Dakota's evolving needs.

Today, NDPS sits on 120 acres, with an aggressive plan to expand 2,500+ acres to the north of the current facility. At the current location, NDPS can handle a full intermodal unit train along with approximately 80 manifest rail cars.
